| Up there with some of the greatest Vinsobres I''ve ever tasted, the 2012 Vinsobres Confidence is an even split of Grenache and Syrah that was vinified and aged in barrel. Its inky purple color is followed by an incredible wine that has notes of black raspberry, crème de cassis, dusty soil and dried flowers, full-bodied richness and a seamless, elegant, layered profile on the palate. The tannin quality here is off the charts, and this is exceptional juice. It''s hard to resist now, but it should have 10-15 years of longevity when all is said and done. Score - 94.
