Winery Introduction
Founded in 1973, Chapel Hill is one of Australia''s most respected and awarded wineries. Chief winemaker Michael Fragos was named "International Winemaker of the Year" at the 2007 International Wine & Spirit Competition.

Region Introdcution
McLaren Vale is one of Australia’s finest wine regions, consistently recognised at international and national wine show for the quality, power and grace of its wines. It is a region rich in history, being the birthplace of the South Australian wine industry and possessing a unique heritage including some of the world’s oldest grape vines and many characters recognised as the fathers of Australian wine.
Nestled between rolling hills and a picturesque coastline, McLaren Vale’s Mediterranean climate has created ideal conditions for grapegrowing and ensured that the region is recognised as a leader in environmentally sustainable viticulture.

Chapel Hill’s mantra is to produce wines with pure varietal and regional characters, which have power and grace, balance and texture.

History
Chapel Hill winery takes its name from the historic ironstone chapel built on the property in 1865.
Originally the Christian Bible Church for the local area then later also used as a parish school; the chapel closed in its centenary year (1965) and fell into disrepair until its restoration in the 1970’s by Adelaide Professor, Tom Nelson. Tom commenced the establishment of a winery and the Chapel Hill brand in 1973 and six years later the site was purchased by a partnership of the Sellick and Gerrard families who enjoyed considerable success in developing the Chapel Hill wines. Gerrard bought out the Sellick family in the 80’s. A new winery was constructed in 1994 with a capacity of 1000 tonnes the equivalent of around 80,000 cases of wine. In 2000 Chapel Hill was acquired by the Swiss based family of Thomas Schmidheiny.
Chapel Hill owns and operates 44 hectares of vineyards and purchases fruit from a select group of McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills vignerons.
Since 2006 there have been a number of significant changes within the business. Changes to vineyards, wine styles, packaging and personnel have significantly contributed to a new look Chapel Hill that is totally dedicated to producing the best possible quality range of wines that articulate the stylistic expression the region.
礼拜山酒庄取名自1965年成立之时的一尊具有历史意义的教堂。
起初该教堂仅作当地的基督传教之用，后来用作了一座教堂学校。百年之后，该教堂倒闭，直至20世纪70年代，阿德雷德教授Tom Nelson重建了该教堂，在六年后的80年代由Sellick和Gerrard家族合伙收购。1994年一座崭新的酒庄在此成立，年产量达1000吨约8000箱葡萄酒。2000年，礼拜山酒庄由瑞士家族Thomas Schmidheiny收购。

Michael Fragos - Chief Winemaker
Winemaker Michael Fragos joined Chapel Hill in February 2004. Michael came to the business with a fine pedigree of awards and years of consistent recognition for his wines. Since being at Chapel Hill Michael has won numerous accolades and made a significant impact on the quality and styles of the portfolio. The crowning achievement was winning International Winemaker of the Year at the 2007 International Wine & Spirit Competition along with 3 trophies for his wines.

Award- winning Chapel Hill winemaking team, Michael Fragos & Bryn Richards, were today crowned the 2010 Bushing Kings – a prestigious honour bestowed on the winemakers of the best wine at the McLaren Vale wine show.
