Clos Du Val flagship estate wine, the Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet in color with vibrant aromas of ripe black fruit and a hint of dried herbs, mocha coffee and toast. The wine has a rich, powerful entry, and concentrated mid-palate, filling the mouth with intense black fruit and spice. With its velvety-smooth tannins and elegant structure, this Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic expression of Stags Leap District terroir. The finish is long and lingering. Enjoy now or cellar for at least 20+ years.

Clos du Val的创始人John Goelet，一个波尔多酒商的后代，有着与生俱来的对美酒的热爱和开拓精神。四十多年前，John来到美国寻找可以酿造好酒的葡萄园，现在已经有了4个世界级的酒庄，其中Clos Du Val更是纳帕谷的珍宝级酒庄。
Goelet在1972年创立了Clos Du Val酒庄，拥有150英亩鹿跃区的葡萄园。以后又在Carneros的山坡，购买了180英亩葡萄园。Clos du Val的第一个年份，1972年的赤霞珠，被Steven Spurrier选中，代表美国酒参加著名的1976年巴黎审判。10年后的1986年，同样的10支酒在巴黎进行重新审判，1972年的Clos Du Val获得了第一名，从此奠定了Clos Du Val酒庄出产世界级赤霞珠的名声。酿酒师Kristy Melton被wine Enthusiast杂志评选为“Top 40 under 40 winemakers” in 2013。

Born with a love of fine wine and a pioneering spirit, Clos Du Val founder John Goelet, a descendent of the Guestier wine merchant family of Bordeaux, searched for land in premiere wine growing regions across three continents over forty years ago to inspire a collection of four world-class estate wineries still flourishing today. Clos Du Val is the Napa Valley jewel in the Goelet Family portfolio.
The Goelet family’s original vision to produce world-class wines that express the terroir of the vineyards from which they are crafted remains the underlying essence of Clos Du Val wines and all of the Goelet Wine Estates sister wineries.
Goelet established Clos Du Val in 1972 with 150 acres of vineyards in what is known now as the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. Soon after, he acquired 180 acres of prime Carneros hillside vineyards. Clos Du Val’s first release, a 1972 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, was chosen as one of six California Cabernets to compete against French Bordeaux wines at the infamous 1976 Paris Tasting. Ten years later, the same wine won first place in a rematch of the same American and French wines. The 1986 tasting established Clos Du Val’s reputation for world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaker Kristy Melton handcrafts all of our wines to reflect the classic style, finesse and grace Clos Du Val is known for. Wine Enthusiast named Kristy one of wine’s “Top 40 Under 40 Tastemakers” in June 2013.
The Three Graces, Splendor, Mirth and Joy have adorned Clos Du Val’s labels since 1972. These mythical daughters of Zeus were said to preside over Olympian banquets and celebrations, spreading good cheer and raising a glass to the prosperity, happiness, health and good fortune of all.
