周五受Vic兄盛邀于周六晚一起品尝Dominus Estate2001,非常感谢Vic兄带来的这支好酒,满足了我和土猫及老吴再探Napa Valley 顶级酒款的猎奇心理:)

酒标上有Petrus酒庄的现任庄主Christian Moueix的签名,作为Mouiex家族在加州Napa Valley的酒厂,Dominus Estate Napa Valley 排名第二的顶级酒款。

Dacanter 醒酒近两小时后,深不见底、紫得发黑的色泽(边缘有明显的茶色),浓郁的黑色浆果的芳香,感觉得到赤霞珠的比例很高(85%)。入口有黑莓、黑樱桃、黑加仑果果味和一些薄荷味,铿锵有力的酒体结构和丰满酒体,强劲有力而收敛的单宁及中等酸度,高酒精度背后隐约有些烟草的悠长回味。再过了一个多小时,薄荷味渐渐被香草味替代,烟熏味也散去而转化成些许Vanilla Ice cream

唯一的遗憾就是吃饭包房里的温度太高,使得这支酒的酒精度在喉咙口有所停滞:)

梅瑞塔吉Meritage 这个词由America中的 “M” 和Heritage 中的“eritage ”构成,是指Bordeaux Blend 完全使用波尔多传统的葡萄品种调配而成,应该是美国加州每个酒厂最好的专属品牌(Proprietary)葡萄酒。只是有时候在Napa Valley 赤霞珠的使用比例可能高达85%---90% 最著名的Meritage Wine包括Dominus ( Christian Moueix), Opus One ( Mondavi / Rothschild) 红葡萄品种包括:Cabernet Sauvignon,Merlot,Cabernet Franc,Petit Verdot,Malbec,白葡萄品种包括:Sauvignon Blanc,Semilion,Muscadelle

经过漫长的冬天,身体一下子适应不了室温高的环境喝酒。还好是和志同道合的酒友一起,弥补了这个不足。参考Wine Advocate的酒评,01年的比例是 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot。下面是著名品酒师的酒评。 Business Week - Robert Park - April 23, 2007 95 Points "The impeccably made 2001...boasts a dense plum/purple color in addition to a fragrant perfume of cocoa, cedar, coffee, roasted herbs, and black fruits. Rich and medium- to full-bodied, with sweet but noticeable tannin, a layered mid-palate, and a long finish, it will require three to four years of cellaring. It should last for two decades." Washington Post - Ben Giliberti - December 15, 2004 "The 2001 is a top-notch wine that combines the deep, fleshy structure of a classic Napa Valley Cabernet with the subtle nuances of Bordeaux winemaking." Wine Enthusiast - S.H. - October 01, 2004 94 points "As good as the 2001 Napanook is, this wine is more intense. The fruit is lusher, the oak newer, the control more complete, but the kicker is the tannins. They’re powerful and dusty, and conceal the flamboyance, for now. This is a monster of a wine that desperately needs time before exploding. Hold until 2010 and beyond." International Wine Cellar - Steve Tanzer - May 2004 93 Points "Good ruby-red. Superripe aromas of plum, cherry, licorice, mocha, smoke and minerals. At once sweet and gripping, with very intense, nuanced flavors of cherry, plum, currant, tobacco, minerals and currant leaf. Despite the very high pH of 4.01, this shows no shortage of energy in the mouth. A muscular, firmly tannic, serious wine for aging. (A second sample that had been decanted for four hours prior to my visit was sweeter and more seamless, but still showed solid tannic spine.)" 我当晚指出这款酒欠缺清新的酸度,不是我喜欢的类型。它的pH4.01挺高的,如果年轻时喝,浓郁的果味和显眼的单宁可以稍微弥补,让你感觉不到活力的欠缺。可是当它老化后,果味稍退,单宁软化,酸度的不足这时候会越来越明显。这是我这个业余爱好者的看法。下面是Michael Apstein在05年采访Christian Mouiex的其中一段: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As we tasted various vintages of Dominus, I got the sense that Moueix-always a perfectionist-was not quite satisfied with many of the wines. He sometimes wonders whether Napa Valley is too warm to produce what he calls "wines of sensitivity." A problem in Napa Valley is that heat spikes in September can send the grapes' sugar levels from not quite ripe to over ripe quickly while the ripeness of tannins and flavor compounds lags behind. The dilemma for winemakers is difficult: should one pick earlier at lower sugar levels, when tannins may be astringent but when one can make wines with lower alcohol and more elegance, or later and riper, when tannins are supple but alcohol can be inelegantly high? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Moueix plans to deal with this dilemma in a way that contradicts conventional wisdom. Although it is now widely believed that lowering yields invariably heightens quality, Moueix plans to increase yields slightly at Dominus. His theory is that a larger crop will take longer to ripen, giving tannins time to ripen before sugar levels become excessive. Judging by Moueix's extraordinary track record, I suspect that Dominus-which is already superb-will become even better in years to come.

加州属于温带海洋性气候,年平均日照超过3000小时,所以葡萄的成熟度很高,果香浓郁,欠缺的就是足够的酸度,这是风土所致。RP95 分的Dominus已经算是有平衡的酸度了

当然产量极低的膜拜酒是单算的。这是我在加州时当地公认的top wine的第二,是销量、售价、打分和口碑的综合。
