Flawless Topaz remains a sensible stop before the more specialized Horadric Gems enter the picture. It is accessible, reliable, and strong enough for most seasonal content. The common mistake is treating every upgrade as permanent. Your first strong weapon, chest, helm, and rings can stay equipped for a long time, but random leveling drops usually cannot.

Players pushing the highest Pit tiers will eventually favor Horadric effects tailored to their build, especially where a unique interaction matters more than flat attributes. Everyone else can keep Flawless Topaz comfortably through mid-tier Torment and farm the rarer materials at their own pace.
